Played on a very heavy pitch Ballyhea picked up a valuable league victory with this win over the Mid-Cork men. The first-half was very evenly contested with an Eamon Morrissey goal just before the interval gave us a 1-6 to 0-7 half-time lead. A whirlwind start to the second period saw 2 well taken goals from Eamon Morrissey and another from John Mortell to surge into a 4-10 to 0-7 lead with 15 minutes remaining.
Ballincollig never gave in and scored a late goal but on the day Ballyhea deserved their victory.
