Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship Round 3 BALLYHEA 2-13 WATERGRASSHILL 1-11 (03/07/05) Played At | Ballygiblin. With the slippery conditions making hurling difficult, Ballyhea got off to a flying start when a Neil Ronan free went all the way to the net in the 5th minute, but the East Cork side were proving doughty opponents and after a scappy opening half, Ballyhea held a narrow advantage 1-4 to 0-6 at the break. It was Watergrasshill who were the quicker to settle in the 2nd period and after goaling early in the half they proceeded to open a 1-7 to 1-4 lead by the 36th minute and Ballyhea looked to be in trouble. At this stage the lads dug deep and upped their performance all over the field, the backs giving their opponents little room, while more ball was going into the forward line, who began to look dangerous, none more than Neil Ronan who added 1-5 in a ten minute period to help put us 2-12 to 1-8 ahead with 7 minutes remaining. Watergrasshill had a late onslaught and there were one or two close calls, but Jonathon O' Sullivan's injury time point left 5 points between the teams as the final whistle sounded.
