Mallow took the points at stake in this Evening Echo Co. IHL game at Buttevant last evening. The winners gained supremacy early on and led all through. Mallow had the aid of the strong cross breeze in the opening half. We got off to a poor start by conceding an early goal with Mallow playing the crisper hurling, they had opened up a sizeable lead 1-9 to 0-5 by half-time. Despite the advantage of the breeze in the second period, Ballyhea failed to get the momentum to close the gap to any great extent and Mallow finished fairly comfortable winners.
