Preview Of Cloyne V Ballyhea

Ballyhea have major injury worries for Sundays big clash. Goalie Olly Morrissey, Sean Curtin, Maurice O' Sullivan, Barry Condon and Diarmuid O' Riordan are all in a race against time to be fit for the game. Derek Mackessey and Brendan Daly are already long term injury victims.

When the pairings for this years championship were made memories of the 3 epic encounters of 2000 came flooding back. The opening game on the 14th May ended 2-17 a piece. The replay was a tension filled game ending 0-18 each after extra time. Our scorers that night were Neil Ronan 0-9, Ian Ronan 0-3, Eamon Morrissey 0-2, Ian Curtin 0-1, Darran Ronan 0-1, Alec Morrissey 0-1, Sean Curtin 0-1. All roads led to Kilworth for the third meeting of the sides on the 9th June. Ballyhea were rampant early on and led 1-8 to 0-3 just before half-time. But Cloyne goaled on the stroke of the half time whistle and went on to win 3-9 to 1-9. Ballyhea scorers were Neil Ronan 0-7, Ian Ronan 1-1, Ian Curtin 0-1.
