2010 Cork County Intermediate Premier Hurling Championship Round 1 Ballyhea 1-9 Newcestown 1-13 Played in Mallow (05/06/10) Our intermediates went under to West Cork side Newcestown in Mallow last Saturday night after a dour contest. We got off to a great start with 2 Neil Ronan points in the first 3 minutes but by half time we trailed 1-5 to 0-5 with the opposition's goal coming midway through the half. The second half was evenly contested with a cracking free from 25 yards out from Neil Ronan billowing the Newcestown net with 58 minutes gone. But the West Cork lads rallied again with 4 unanswered points to secure their passage to the Fourth Round. Ballyhea now face the losers of Fr O'Neills and Carrigaline in Round 2.
