The Juniors defeated Castletownroche tonight to advance to the North Cork semi-final after a tough struggle at Kildorrery. Michael O' Mahony was quickest to react to goal for Ballyhea after 10 mins. But at half time the scores were level 1-5 to 0-8. Castletownroche got off to a flying start in the second half with an early goal but Mike O' Mahony was on hand to goal again in the 37th min as exchanges were hard as very little separated the sides.

Stephen O' Sullivan struck over a fine point in the 46th min to level the sides 2-6 to 1-9. Diarmuid O' Riordan had a Ballyhea goal a minute later with a long range shot that deceived the keeper. Castletown were level again in the 51st min before Denis Mortell and John William O' Brien had points to put us 2 clear with 7 mins to go. The game was still in the balance until with 3 mins remaining Ken Kennedy was on hand to tap in a goal and a minute later Stephen O' Sullivans line ball went all the way to the net as we advanced to next Wednesday nights semi final v Fermoy.
