The seniors went under to St Finbarrs in the opening round of the league at Togher on Saturday. Ballyhea were without the Ronan brothers Neil and Darran who were on duty with the cork hurlers in Derry. Noel Hanley and Johnny O' Callaghan were also unavailable owing to injury. Ballyhea had a let off in the first minute when Olly Morrissey brought off a brilliant save from close range. 16 yr old Barry Coleman who was making his senior debut was forced to retire early with a head wound to be replaced by fellow 16 yr old Owen O' Sullivan who had a fine outing.
