After a dreadful start our Intermediate hurlers are still in the Championship after a pulsating draw with fellow North Cork Club Mallow at a splendid Buttevant venue last Sunday night. Mallow got off to a dream start to lead 1-7 to 0-2 after 13 mins, but Ballyhea settled down with our half back line now getting on top and Ian Ronan and Maurice O' Sullivan prominent in attack and by half time 4 points separated the sides 1-8 to 0-7.

Ballyhea got off to a blistering start in the second half with points from Ian Ronan (2), Maurice O' Sullivan (2) Darran Ronan and 2 excellent points from Diarmuid O' Riordan who was excelling at this stage to lead 0-15 to 1-10. With Ballyhea on top all over the field we failed to finish off the game with Diarmuid O' Riordan and Nial Corcoran going close for goals, but Mallow came back and 2 late points forced a replay which will take place saturday 29th May at Buttevant.
