Junior "B" Football Championship

Ballyhea 0-11 Araglin 1-11 (18/08/01)
Played At | Castletownroche.

The footballers suffered another defeat in the North Cork Junior "B" Football Championship at castletownroche on Saturday night. The chances of qualifying for the Semi-Finals are now slim after this 3 point loss to araglin. Araglen led 0-2 to 0-1 after 5 mins before Aidan O' Connor saw a glorious chance of a goal come back off the post. Two Aidan Crowley points had us ahead when Ian Curtin broke through the araglin defence only to see his effort rebound off the post to safety. 5 mins later Ian Ronan broke through the araglin defence but his effort was saved by the keeper and the rebound was scrambled to safety. Araglen hit 5 points in the next 12 mins to our 2 from Ian Curtin and a goal right on the stroke of half-time had them leading 1-7 to 0-5 at the break.

Ballyhea rallied well in the second half and had the lead down to 2 points 1-8 to 0-9 but our first half misses were to prove vital, and it was araglin who almost certainly booked their place in the semi's.
