The Junior hurlers suffered another league defeat to Liscarroll last Sunday. Despite playing with the breeze, Ballyhea trailed by 2-5 to 1-6 at Half-Time. Liscarroll took control in the second half although John William O' Brien struck a fine goal midway through the half. Ballyhea could not build on it and Stephen O'Sullivan's second goal late on was a mere consolation.
This result means that Ballyhea are now relegated to Division 3 next year. A disappointing aspect of the game however was the fact that the side was forced to start with only 14 players just a week before they were due to play in the Championship.
