After last Sundays defeat Ballyhea had a welcome victory over fellow North Cork side Mallow at Carrowkeel last Friday night. At the end of the first quarter the sides were level 0-5 a piece. Then in the 17 min Neil Ronan blasted a free to the roof of the net. Maurice O' Sullivan added a point to put us 4 points clear, before Mallow had 3 unanswered points. Ballyhea struck for a second goal 2 mins before half time as Neil Ronan set up Gavin Morrissey who sent a cracking first time shot to the net to leave us 2-7 to 0-11 ahead at the break.

Ballyhea got off to a blistering start to the second half scoring 1-5 to Mallow's solitary point. Gavin Morrissey scoring his second goal running on to the end of Neil Ronan clever pass. Ballyhea now led 3-12 to 0-12 with 20 mins remaining. Mallow did notch a goal in the 52nd minute but the league points were on their way to Ballyhea and a good boost before the first round of the championship.
