North Cork Junior "B" Football Championship 2nd Round BALLYHEA 1-8 SHANBALLYMORE 1-14 (22/07/03) Played At | Liscarroll. Our footballers went under to Shanballymore at Liscarroll last Tuesday Night. We Started poorly and trailed 1-4 to 0-0 after 10 minutes. We were awarded a penalty in the 13th minute when young Stephen O' Sullivan was grounded. But the resultant penalty was sent wide. Ballyhea had lots of possession in this period but it was all wasted. At half-time we triled 1-9 to 0-1. Our first score came in the 39th minute from Darren Ronan as we trailed 1-12 to 0-1. Gradually we came back at Shanballa and further points from Dave Hickey and Kenneth O' Donoghue and Darren Ronan (2) left us 1-12 to 0-5 behind with 10 minutes remaining. Ballyhea were getting some great performances from Ian Ronan, Olly Morrissey, Tim Shanahan and youngster Kenneth O' Donoghue. Shanballymore fired over 2 further points before Ian Ronan finished and excellent passing movement for a great goal. Ballyhea had 3 late points from Ian Ronan (2) and Dave Hickey. We had a number of late goal chances but were all missed. We have still 3 games remaining and we have to win all 3 to have a chance of qualification to the semi-finals. Before the game a minutes silence was held in memory of Stephen Burke Shanballymore who died tragically last Weekend.
