Munster Senior Hurling League 2003 Round 4 ST. FINBARRS 2-19 BALLYHEA 0-17 (22/08/03) Played At | Togher. Ballyhea completed their Munster Senior League programme last Friday night in a game which doubled up for Cork County League Points. This was a cracking contest with some excellent performances by Ballyhea, fielding an understrenght side. Ballyhea had an early point from Ray Ronan before the Barrs raced into a 0-5 to 0-1 lead after 10 mins. Points from Darren Ronan (11th min), Aidan O' Connor (14th min) and Tim Shanahan (15th min) brought Ballyhea within a point before the Barrs goaled in the 16th and 19th minutes to lead 2-6 to 0-4. Ballyhea now playing excellent stuff had points from Darren Ronan (19th, 22nd and 24th min), Tim Shanahan (20th and 26th min) and Aidan O' Connor (23rd min) to leave just 2 goals between the sides at half-time 1-10 to 0-10. The second half proved to be very close with Ballyhea coming within 3 points after 45 mins 2-11 to 0-14. The Barrs though finished strong despite a great Ballyhea effort and in the end the home side ran out winners.
