Senior Hurling League
Ballyhea 0-10 Douglas 0-13 (24/03/02)
Played At | Ballyhea.
Our seniors went under to Douglas last Sunday at Ballyhea after a
spirited performance despite being forced to line out minus the Ronan brothers, Neil and Darran (who were on duty with cork) and also without Noel Hanley, Ian Ronan, Timmy Shanahan, Johnny O' Callaghan and Derek Mackessey all out injured. Exchanges were very even in the first half with the Ballyhea defence doing very well with excellent performances fron Eamon Morrissey and Sean curtin. Youngsters Liam O' Connor and
Barry Coleman at midfield were also playing their part and at half
time Ballyhea led 0-8 to 0-7, thanks especially to the accuracy of Jonathon O' Sullivan. Douglas came more into the game in the second half as Ballyhea tired. Ballyhea had just 2 points from Jonathon O' Sullivan frees in the second half. Although we could have got a share of the points only for an excellent save by Teddy O' Donovan from Ian
Curtin after good work by Barry Coleman. Despite defeat there was some
very encouraging performances.
