North Cork Under-21 "A" Hurling Championship Final

BALLYHEA 1-15 CHARLEVILLE 0-11 (24/09/05)
Played At | Buttevant.

The North Cork u-21 title rests in Ballyhea for the 11th time after this merited victory over neighbours Charleville at Buttevant in very wet conditions on Saturday. Ballyhea got off to a dream start with 3 points in 3 mins from Barry Coleman, Maurice O' Sullivan and Edward Rea. Charleville replied with a point from cork U-21 player P.J. Copse in the 4th min before 2 mins later David O' Riordan left his man for dead and cheekily finished to put us 5 points clear. With the aid of the breeze Ballyhea maintained this lead and at half time the advantage was 6 points 1-9 to 0-6.

Charleville came out all guns blazing in the 2nd half and had 3 unanswered points to leave it 1-9 to 0-9 after 38 mins. Balyhea rallied again though with 2 excellent points from "Man Of The Match" Trevor O' Sullivan and a Maurice O' Sullivan free in the 42nd min to put us 6 clear again. Ballyhea finished the stronger with Stepen O' Sullivan having a goal disallowed but Hugh O' Leary put the icing on the cake with a fine point in injury time.

This was a welcome victory for the club and we now face the Muskerry winners either Inniscara or Blarney in the County 1/4 Final.
