Our Intermediates interest in this years Liam Breathnach Cup ended on easter Monday at Mallow. Ballyhea started very well and led 0-6 to 0-0 after 15 mins. Maurice O' Sullivan notching 5 and centre forward Aidan Crowley had the other. Mallow gradually came into the game despite the best efforts of Eoin O' Sullivan and Eamon Morrissey in defence and Maurice O' Sullivan up front and at half time we led 0-8 to 0-4.

The 1st 10 mins of the second half saw Ballyhea well on top but could only muster a single point from Ian Ronan although the Mallow goalie Colm Sheehan brilliantly denied Jonathon O' Sullivan a certain goal in the 38th min. By the 3/4 mark we still led 0-10 to 0-7 but a goal from Ronan Galvin in the 48th min had the sides level. Maurice O' Sullivan put Ballyhea ahead again with 11 mins remaining. Pa Dineen pointed 2 frees to put Mallow ahead with 6 mins to go. Ian Curtin pointed for Ballyhea but Mallow added another to earn their second win in the competition and almost certain qualification for the Semi Finals
