2010 North Cork Division 3 Junior Hurling League Final

Ballyhea 2-19 Kilworth 2-21
Played in Shanballymore (28/07/10)

It took 80 minutes before the sides were separated in the Division 3 Junior Hurling League Final at Shanballymore after an epic contest. Ballyhea got off to a dream start when a John Williamm O'Brien delivery was finished to the net by Kevin Copps. By half time we led 2-9 to 1-7 with Johnny Flaherty goaling in injury time to give us a 5 point cushion at the break although it could have been more but for a number of bad wides.

Kilworth though got on top in the second half and led by 2 points 1-16 to 2-11 facing additional time but two pointed frees from Timmy Shanahan sent the game to extra time. The first period was tight and tense with Ballyhea a point to the good at the break 2-16 to 1-18. The crucial score of the game came with 6 minutes remaining when Kilworth struck for a goal but our lads never gave in and points from Kevin Hanley and Timmy Shanahan kept us in contention but despite their best efforts time ran out and the title was heading to Kilworth after a cracking game of hurling.
