The minors are North Cork Champs after a gap of 3 years with our last victory being in 2001 when the county was won. Played on a ideal surface this was a tight tense encounter with the sides level after 20 mins 0-3 each, Stephen O' Sullivan scoring all our points from frees. The crucial score in the game came in the 24th min when Gavin Morrissey gathered Kevin Hanley's clearance and left his man trailing to cooly finish and help Ballyhea to a 2pt half time lead 1-5 to 0-6. The second half continued the same way with our defence brilliantly marshalled by Trevor O' Sullivan and Kenneth O' Donoghue doing superbly at centre forward. With 10 mins to go we led 1-9 to 0-9 Kildorrery pointed a free in the 51st min but Gavin Morrissey replied in the 52nd and despite a constant onslaught from Kildorrery the Ballyhea defence with Dermot Hawe and Padraig Egan playing their hearts out victory was not to be denied. After the game North Cork Board chairman Tom Crowley presented the cup to Ballyhea's captain Martin O' Keeffe. Congrats to the players and mentors and best of luck in their quest for county glory.

22/04/04 --- Minor "B" Football League - Ballycosgry Rovers 2-6 Ballyclough 1-7 @ Liscarroll.
The minors opened their football league account with a dramatic victory over Ballyclough at Liscarroll last Sunday. Played in bitter cold conditions we trailed 0-5 to 0-1 at half time. Ballyclough regained the lead with a goal in the 39th min. Points from John O' Brien (41st) and Stephen O' Sullivan (43rd) had us a point ahead again only for Ballyclough to equalise again in the 44th min.
