U-16 "A" County Hurling Championship Semi-Final (05/10/02)
Ballycosgry Rovers 1-8 Na Piarsaigh 1-11 @ Castletownroche

Na Piarsaigh qualified to play Youghal in the County U-16 Championship Final when they beat Ballycosgry Rovers at Castletownroche on Saturday last. Ballyhea had a better start and were a point up thanks to James Morrissey in the second minute. Na Piarsaigh had a point a minute later and had a goal in the next minute. Stephen O' Sullivan reduced the lead with a point from a 65' in the 8th minute. The same player had a point in the 9th minute. Joey O' Herlihy had another point but it was Na Piarsaigh who led 1-6 to 0-5 at half-time. The second half saw more points from Stephen O' Sullivan and Joey O' Herlihy. Ballyhea staged a rally and reduced the lead with a goal from sub Niall Buckley to leave the winners 1-9 to 1-7 in front at the three quater stage. A Joey O' Herlihy point and two further points from Na Piarsaigh saw them through to the Final.

U-16 "A" County Hurling Championship 1/4 Final (28/09/02)
Ballycosgry Rovers 2-9 Ballinhassig 1-3 Ballyhea

The u-16's marched into the county Semi-Final with another impressive victory last Saturday at Ballyhea's Gaels Memorial Park. Early golas from Stephen O' Sullivan in the 2nd and 11th minutes put Ballyhea in the driving seat and at half-time led 2-4 to 0-1 thanks to some great displays in defence by Trevor O' Sullivan, Gavin Morrissey and James Morrissey. Ballinhassig made a brief comeback in the second-half with a goal in the 41st minute and a point a minute later. But 2 points from the outstanding Edward Rea put us 7 points clear again. And late points from James Morrissey, Kenneth O' Donoghue and Joey O' Herlihy saw us on our way to a semi-final clash with Na Piarsaigh.

U-16 "A" County Hurling Championship 1st Round (14/09/02)
Ballycosgry Rovers 6-7 St. Marks 3-12 @ Freemount

The U-16's advanced to a county semi-final clash with Ballinhassig after this victory on Saturday. An early goal from James Morrissey put us on the way and we led 4-6 to 2-1 at half-time. With the aid of the breeze, St. Marks came more into the game in the second half but in the end we were not to be denied our place in the County Semi-Final versers Carrigdown reps Ballinhassig.

Ballycosgry Rovers 5-8 Michael McCarthaighs 2-3 @ Newtown

A young Ballycosgry Rovers side had a convincing win over a determined Buttevant side in Newtown on Monday last. The Ballyhea/Liscarroll combination started strongly and had scores from Gavin Morrissey and David O' Riordan. Niall Buckley and Eddie Rea were impressive throughout with Stephen O' Sullivan clearing well under pressure. Ballycosgry were well in control and finished with a splendid goal form substitute Donal Lenihan to ensure a semi final place in the League
