The hurling leagues resume this weekend with our seniors at home to St Finbarrs at 2.30 on Saturday while our juniors travel to Doneraile on Sunday for a 2.30 start also . Our first game in the RedFM senior hurling last  year was also against the Barrs where we came away with a share of the spoils 1-13 each . The last time the city side travelled to Ballyhea for a senior league tie was in 2001 where they were victorious by 3 points:
Ballyhea 0-11 St Finbarrs 1-11 (24/03/01)

Played At | Ballyhea.

Our senior hurlers opened their league campaign with a narrow 3 point defeat at home to the Barrs in heavy conditions. The sides were level 0-3 a piece at half-time . But by the 3/4 stage the visitors led 1-9 to 0-4.
Ballyhea though staged a revival and could have shared the points but for 2 excellent saves by the Barrs keeper in the dying moments.
