Our minor hurlers captured the Rebel Og Northern Region title last Tuesday evening in Mallow . This was a cracking game of hurling with  a powerful finish proving vital in securing the victory . Kilavullen had two early points before we settled and Gearoid O'Shea had to be alert to make a fine save after only 3 minutes . By the quarter hour mark we led 4 points to 3 , Colin O'Brien (3) and Thomas Foley scoring the points with Dwayne Sheehan , Niall Crowley , William Carroll and Oisin Foley making some great tackles as we battled hard against the strong wind .There was no further score until the 29th minute as both sides battled for supremacy , our full back line of Adam Barret , Tadhg Jones and captain James O'Leary not giving their opponents an inch .Kilavullen fired over 3 late points to lead at the break 6 points to 4. We regained the lead again in the 34th minute when Colin O'Brien's free landed in the square and Aaron Curtin was quickest to react to finish brilliantly to the net . Kilavullen bounced back with two fine points only for the excellent Sean O'Kelly strike over the equaliser 1-5 to 0-8. Four further points on the trot put us in a clear lead but Kilavullen bounced back with a goal and a point to level 1-9 each with 17 minutes remaining.ans it looked they had grabbed the initiative. The game was now in the melting pot with the next score crucial and up popped Sean O'Kelly with a cracking score , the tenacious Jamie Copps added another . Colin O'Brien unerring all night put us 3 clear in the 52nd minute with a well taken score . Kilavullen replied with a point and then came the crucial moment when Luke Crowley tormented the defence before parting to Jack Barrett who found the net with a deft flick . Five points ahead with 5 minutes remaining  and sensing victory we finished with a flourish adding 4 further points from Colin O'Brien (2), Jamie Copps and a beauty from Luke Crowley much to the delight of our large following . After the game Mike Morrissey of sponsors Abbey Printing proudly presented the cup to captain James O'Leary with board officer Patsy O'Mahony . Well done to the panel and to mentors Sean Curtin , Liam Crowley , Eamon Crowley and Pat O'Brien on a deserved victory a just reward for the efforts put  in all year .
