The Bally Rovers ( Ballyhea / Ballyclough ) under 21 footballers captured the North Cork C football championship title at Shanballymore this evening . Both sides met earlier in the competition and only 3 points separated the sides . We started well with two points from Adam Finnegan before Castle Rovers has their opening point . We fired over the next 4 points before Dean Copps struck for a well taken goal in the 12th minute to lead 1-6 to 0-1. Damien Buckley had our second goal after good work by Dean Copps and Jack O'Mahony in the 18th minute . Our third goal came two minutes before the break when Shane Buckley cooly finished to give us a comfortable 3-13 to 0-3 half time lead . The Liscarroll / Milford combination tried hard to get back into the game but could not get past a teak tough defence . In the 42nd minute Castle were awarded a penalty but Scott McNamara brought off a fine save to keep his goal in tact . At the other end Damien Buckley and David Fitzgerald were on the mark as Bally Rovers romped to the title . After the game the cup was presented to team captain Jack O'Mahony by competition sponsor Pat O'Keeffe in the presence of North Cork board chairman John O'Donnell .
