Ballyhea returned to winning ways in the County Senior league tonight after a well earned victory over County champions Sarsfields at Ballyhea. We got off to a tremendous start with Pa O'Callaghan in scintillating form netting 3 goals in the opening ten minutes before retiring with injury . By half time we led 3-7 to 0-11. Sars closed the gap in the second half but Ballyhea held their nerve led by captain Maurice O'Sullivan and the accuracy of Neil Ronan from placed balls . We led by 4 points entering the final minute before the visitors finally found a way past Mikey Browne in the Ballyhea goal but it was too late for Sars to salvage the points . This win puts us back in the running for a place in the play offs .
