Ballyhea and Castlelyons will have to do it all again after a dramatic finish which left the sides deadlocked at the final whistle .Early exchanges were close and after 12 minutes Castlelyons led 0-5 to 0-3 with Pa O'Callaghan (2 frees) and Eugene O'Leary on the mark for Ballyhea. The East Cork lads hit a purple patch and struck for  1-2 without reply to surge into a 7 point lead and to add to Ballyhea's woe Neil Ronan was left hobbling after picking up a leg injury. But our lads stuck to their task and aided by a number of shrewd switches we were within 3 points heading towards the break thanks to 2 points each from Neil Ronan and Pa O'Callaghan . The Imokilly lads through midfielder Philip Mahon had the last score of the half and went in  for the half time break 1-8 to 0-7 ahead. Scores were hard to come by in the 3rd quarter as Castlelyons still led 1-9 to 0-9. Three Gavin Morrissey points in 4 minutes meant the teams were level with ten minutes to go 1-9 to 0-12. Eugene O'leary fired Ballyhea ahead with 6  minutes to go, but Anthony Spillane replied 3  minutes later. Cian O'Leary and Gavin Morrissey exchanged points as the the game went in to injury time . Timmy Shanahan looked to have won the game with a mighty long range effort but Alan Fenton equalised in the 3rd minute of added time. The replay will take place on Sunday 14th September in Kilworth at 3.30.
