Our u21's were defeated tonight in the North Cork quarter final at Castletownroche. Starting brightly we raced into a 3 point to one lead after 6 minutes before Fermoy struck for a fine goal. But our lads settled again and went on to dominate for the next 20 minutes out scoring the opposition 11 points to 6 , with especially Eugene O'Leary (5) and John Morrissey (4) in great form . Although at the other end Mikey Browne had to be at his brilliant best to deny Fermoy on two occasions . At the short whistle we led 0-14 to 1-9. Fermoy though took over in the first 10 minutes of the second half to score 2-5 without reply to take control off the game . We battled gamely to the end but the overall physicality and scoring power of Fermoy proved too much for an under strength Bally Rovers side .
Scorers: John Morrissey 0-10 (0-8 frees) , Eugene O'Leary 0-6, Dean Copps 0-1, Daniel Relihan 0-1.
