Great week end for Cork under age hurling
Sunday, 28 August 2011 22:53

The last week end in August is traditionally a busy week end for inter county under age hurling teams. This week end was no different and proved to be a very succesfull one for Cork, a testament to the amount of work going on at under age level in Cork since the founding of the development squads two years ago. Ballyhea had a number of players involved, Eugene O'Leary was on the U-15 B team that defeated Clare in the Munster Final. On the Cork u-16 B team that won the All Ireland B competition defeating Kilkenny 4-12 to 1-5 at Silvermines was Jonathon McCarthy at wing back and Luke Hanley who featured in the earlier games but was ruled out of the final through injury. On Sunday the Cork U-16 A side defeated Wateford 1-18 to 1-10 at Semple Stadium aided by another sublime performance from Pa O'Callaghan . Also on the the panel was sub goalie Mikey Browne and the side was managed by John Mortell. Well done to everyone involved.
