Pa O'Callaghan lined out at corner forward for Cork minor hurlers last Saturday evening in their 0-25 to 2-6 victory over Kerry. Well to done to Pa on a fine performance where he scored 2 points. They now play Tipperary in the Munster Minor hurling championship quarter final next Sunday in Thurles at 3.30. Also at the weekend Avondhu u-16 hurlers were in action in Clarecastle on Saturday, where they drew with Limerick City/West but lost out to Mid Clare and West Tipperary. Locals involved were Jonathon McCarthy, Luke Hanley, Liam O'Shea, Jack Harty, Daniel Relihan and Michael Hedigan. John Mortell was a selector with this team. Avondhu u-15 hurlers were also out at the week end where they played for the Dick Barrett Shield at Delaney's Grounds on Sunday. Eugene O'Leary lined out for this team which defeated Seandun but lost to Imokilly. Avondhu senior hurlers play Imokilly in Rathcormack at 7.15 tonight with Barry Coleman and Maurice O'Sullivan both on the squad.
