Ballyhea came from a 6 point deficit on two occassions to earn a draw at Castlelyons today after a very entertaining hours hurling. The home side started very brightly and raced into a 5 point lead , but 3 Maurice O'Sullivan pointed frees brought Ballyhea back into the game . Castlelyons though struck for a well taken goal 5 minutes before half time, Ballyhea rallied again with 2 more Maurice O'Sullivan points and Trevor O'Sullivan added another before a long range Maurice O'Sullivan free ended up in the net to leave just 2 points between the sides at half time 1-8 to 1-6 in favour of Castlelyons. The home side again took control early in the second half stretching their lead to 6 points 1-13 to 1-7, John Morrissey scoring Ballyhea's solitary point in this period. The lead could have been more but for a fine save from Mikey Browne in the 40th minute. Ballyhea though gradually edged back into the game again with points from Maurice O'Sullivan (3), Barry Coleman and blood sub Ryan Hanley to leave us just two points in arrears with 10 minutes remaining 1-14 to 1-12. The game was now being played a blistering pace and with our boys finishing the stronger we had two late points from Ryan Hanley and Maurice O'Sullivan to give Ballyhea a deserved share of the spoils.
