Ballyhea 0-20 Dromtarriffe 0-18 at Tullylease
Ballyhea minor hurlers won the Northern Region Minor A hurling title tonight at Tullylease defeating Dromtarriffe 0-20 to 0-18. This was a terrific game with some excellent scores . Ballyhea with the aid of a strong breeze led by a point 0-11 to 0-10 at the break. The second half saw the lead change hands on a number of occassions . With 8 minutes to go Ballyhea trailed by 2 points, but refusing to wilt and with Pa O'Callaghan giving an exhibition in point taking , notching 5 points in the final minutes ( 3 absolute gems in the dying embers of the game), the title was secured as our defence were not going to let in the Duhallow lads for a late goal. After the game Martin Condon of Sponsors Cavanaghs of Charleville presented the cup to Ballyhea captain Dean Copps.
